Lead Economist (Associate Director or Director level)
Are you an experienced economist with a passion for applying econometric techniques to real world social and public policy challenges? This is a brilliant opportunity for a senior Economist to join the leadership team of a well regarded, independent social research agency.
This is a leadership role within a values-driven and people-focused organisation.
You will focus on driving their capabilities within research and economic evaluation. You’ll be central to strengthening their offer, working across their full portfolio; policy areas are broad and include (but not limited to) net zero, environment, regulation, education, employment, welfare and social care.
You’ll be at the forefront of developing and applying econometric models, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to design and deliver impactful research for UK Central Government, charities and private sector organisations rooted in social impact.
Key responsibilities
- Lead economic evaluation to evaluate the impact of policies and interventions.
- Use techniques such as regression analysis, cost-benefit analysis, causal inference, VFM assessments.
- Grow capability via contributing to bids, pitches and overall business strategy.
- Provide technical mentorships to colleagues, enhancing internal knowledge.
- Be the subject matter specialist at the organisation.
We are looking for someone with substantial experience in applying economic evaluation techniques from a research agency / consultancy.
What’s on offer
- Base salary of £65,000 – £80,000 + significant bonus.
